where to put an oversized spare tire?
I recently installed a 3" lift and some 31" tires on my '93 Cherokee. Got a 31" spare as well but it no longer fits in the stock location. I need some advise as to what everybody does with it. I've seen some mounts that you can buy for your rear bumper, but it has to swing out of the way to open the hatch.
Any ideas?

Make sure there are bearings on the swing away pivot.. you will get what you pay for there. Still, most every one will rattle.
I'm going with a roof rack mount. It will only be a problem if you think you will tip it over off road.

31" SPARE TIRE
I think you might be able to still put the 31" in stock location if its a 2dr, not shure about the 4dr. But it is a tight fit. That and you would have to extend the bolt to make it longer.
People are known to mount there spare tire to the roof rack, factory swing out tire carrier "wouldnt go larger than a 31" tire on one", aftermarket swing out spair tire carrier / rear bumper combo, or mount them to the floor in the back of the jeep.
hope that helps.
