Default Where to get reman NP231?

I have a stock '99 with a 4.0L auto and I am in need a new (or new to me) transfer case. The front housing on mine is cracked and it ran with extremely low fluid for an unknown amount of time. Where is a good place to get a reman unit (NP231J) that will be essentially a drop in replacement?

I don't want to go the junkyard route as I have no way to know the history or the quality of something I might find there.

Thanks!

www.quadratec.com $615.00 for one with a slip yoke and $900.00 for one with a SYE already installed.

I searched their site but only found parts or whole units well over a grand.

The tag on my transfer case has these numbers:
231 J - I think this is the model (231) and the Jeep means it went in Jeeps
5209 9212 - I think this identifies the details of the TC and another one with this same number would drop right in as a replacement
11 20 98 2C - Just a serial number
272 - Not sure what this represents

Please correct me if I am mistaken on anything. I did find a 231J on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transfer-Cas...item4ab0c6a2d6 , is this a good replacement unit?

T-cases are easy to rebuild. All you need is a set of decent hand tools and a good set of Lock-Ring Pliers.

Rebuild kits can be had for $100-$150.
