I'm looking at some treadwright tires right now for my XJ, but I've heard people say "these aren't legal in my state" and for the life of me I can't find where those laws are listed.
Are retread's legal in washington state? I have no clue ,but I found some sweet tires I want to try and I'd love it if anyone here had some direction for me
Thanks guys

When ever I have a question about modifications to my jeeps legality I simply ask the local law enforcement. Obviously if they don't think it's illegal they won't right you a ticket for it.

The retreads are legal. Only commercial vehicles can't have retreads on the steering or drive tires. Just stay away from the ultra grip ones.

Just because someone doesn't notice or care someone is breaking the law doesn't make it legal. Going 60 in a 55 is speeding whether the cop cares to write you a ticket or not. Just applying my 2 cents, you can come up with other areas where this would truly matter on your own.

I have learned in my old age that saving a couple bucks on retreads or used tires is a unsafe practice. (unless of course you are totally driving off road.) That said save your money or finance a new set of treads for your JEEP & enjoy a safe & smooth ride.

I haven't heard many bad things about treadwrights as far as retreads are concerned. And to save a few hundred dollars it's worth it especially with their reputation.
