Default Wheels on passenger side sticking out farther..

Well, I just got new wheels (silver Cragar Soft 8 15x7 4" bs) and had them mounted up today. Pretty pumped, I like them very much. After looking the car over today I noticed the wheels on the passenger side stick out from the wheel well probably about a half an inch more than the drivers side...

Now, I've read this could be due to a trackbar if your jeep is lifted, but mine is at stock height. The difference between the front wheels is much larger than the difference between the backs, but its still noticeable in the back.

I do have a new (unadjustable) track bar downstairs in a box waiting to go into the thing since I'm hoping that will fix my lightly-wandering steering. That doesnt account for the difference in the rear though.

You guys have any idea what could be going on here?

Are you sure all the new wheels have the same backspacing?

Yep. All 4 are brand new out of the box. All saying 15x7 4"bs. I didn't physically measure the backspace with a tape measure though.

are you parked on uneven ground? My parking lot has a bump that messes with me like that if I park on it.

oh, and if your new track bar doesn't help with the wandering, check the tie-rod ends and the control arm bushings.

Alright well I decided to put two shoes on, and check it again this afternoon in the daylight

Heres what I've got happenin. I've tried to take them all at similar angles. The rear isnt as far off as I thought, but it is indeed different.

If the dimensions were spot on before, it's got to be a funky wheel. In the end, unless your planning on entering Concours, I don't think it's enough difference to matter.

the front I could see happening from bad alignment of trac bar etc... but the rear being that off is kinda blowing my mind right now... take a bunch of measurements and see whats not centered

Is there any way sagging leafsprings could cause this? I'd think they'd wear evenly..

even if you were saggin hard, it wouldnt shift the axle like that.

Take a picture from the rear of the car, so we can see the pumpkin. Maybe we can figure out if the pumpkin is centered or not by looking at that.

Garrrrrrrrg okay. Im going to try to get a few pictures of it, since this will eventually be entering into the Concours. I've wanted to take a few pictures of the underside of that hooptie for a while anyway.

Maybe this can turn into a 'Tell me whats wrong with my car just by looking at it' thread.

I get scared looking at all the rust behind all the doo-dads behind the front wheels.

Also, does this look safe? Can rust like this simply be sanded off these surfaces? Makes me question the integreity of some of these underbody parts..
