Hey guys. So I got new wheel hubs in the mail... Got my elongated wheel studs in by starting them with a hammer them pulling them in. Finished one and noticed there was some play in it. So I ordered a third one, put one stud in and the same thing happened. I can pull the WMS and the part that bolts to the knuckle apart by hand about 1/16th- 1/8th of an inch. Easily can pull it back and forth. After ordering the replacement, I read online and some places say this is normal as the big axle nut will pull the two sides together. Other places say its ruined. So my question is if this is indeed normal or if I ruined another one... They are not on the vehicle.

Still spin fine, no noise or roughness. Old stock ones do the same. Think I am going to throw em on and see if they have play at that point. That large nut is supposed to be torqued to 175 correct?

The hubs you're buying don't already have the studs installed? Mine came ready to install right out of the box.

They are Timkens. Needed longer wheel studs for my rims (always have for the past 5 years) use 2003 TJ Rubicon Studs. Hardened and about 3/4th inch longer. Have to pop new studs out and put my elongated ones in.
