well jus like the title says,
what's the best way.
Reason is with all these intake questions, I wanna clean my throttle body.
So what is the best way? What cleaner should I use?
I bought stp throttle body cleaner but I've heard people use carb cleaner too. Could I use that too?
Also I saw sensor safe cleaner. Should I use this for the renix? Since idk if I have any.
Also last question how can I clean. Like scrubs toothbrush?

carb and Choke cleaner. Saturate a rag and wipe out the bore to get rid of the majority of the build up, then sparay away and make sure you get plenty in the MAP and IAC passages. I also suggest removing the IAC and wiping down the pintle.

And Ima be honest idk what the IAC is. Is it easy to get too? I'm trying not to dig into it too much so I won't screw anything up.

I have found the best way is to remove the intake from the engine bay so you can really spray every thing with carb cleaner/degreaser-tooth brushes so on.

dont take the intake manifold off... lol... unless you wanna scrub it down too... and paint it or something... there kinda a pain anyways... FrankZ said it... the IAC sensor stands for Initial Air Control... you should only have 2 sensors on the renix... wait im confused now... should only have a MAP sensor and a Throttle position sensor on the renix? lol... or maybe it was the IAC and TPS... maybe the map sensor is the other one mounted to the intake... awww... yall got me questioning myself now... anyway you can take them all off other then the TPS... leave it on... thats the one on the back directly inline with the butterfly...

Ive never tooken this apart so its new to me but its not rocket science either.

just take the throttle body off... 5 minutes... then pull the other sensor off thats not the tps... and clean the crap outta it...

Only 4 bolts hold it on, you can take it off in 5 minutes. I was worried about breaking the plastic throttle cable clippy things, so I just left the throttle cables on while I rotated it around to get it all cleaned up. Used gumout carb and choke cleaner and some blue shop towels, but throttle body cleaner will work just fine too.

I cleaned mine yesterday with a can off Throttle Body Cleaner and a clean rag. SUPPOSEDLY, you are supposed to use throttle body cleaner, not carb cleaner, because there a special film inside the throttle body that the carb cleaner can potentially wear off. If I didn't have the TV cleaner though, I would have just used carb cleaner. I left mine still bolted down. I just soaked a clean rag in the cleaner and scrubbed around, sprayed in the IAC port, lift the butterfly and cleaned around there. Idles a lot better now.
Seems like soaking the wrag and cleaning is best for everyone. Ill go with that then.

ive had mine on and off several times... used the same gasket... its always been fine... to make sure its sealed good if u want... while its running spray alittle starting fluid around the base of the TB and if it idles up... its sucking air from around the base somewhere... same goes for around the intake to head gasket...
