Default What type of lift?

I am in the process of finding a lift for my jeep, and I had some questions. What is the difference between a short arm and a long arm lift kit? Add a leaf or just brand new springs? What sort of combo should I get? I was looking at Rubicon Express 3.5" w/ rear springs short arm and Teraflex 4" long arm w/ add a leaf.

add a leafs are a harsher ride, not as plush and comfy in the rear.

Long arm suspensions relocate your control arms to give you gobs of flexedge. (suspension travel)

check out some of Rustys lift kits.

You can get whole new rear leaf packs from Rustys Offroad for around $250.00 And the difference in a short arm and a long arm kit is the ammount of flex you can achieve. Long arm offers alot more travel. But most long arm kits require quite a bit of fabrication. Is this your Daily driver?

I'd rather have long arms with aal then a short arm with full packs. The benefits of the long arm out weigh the drawbacks of an aal

It's better to have and not need than to need and not have. Long arms will give a smoother ride too

If this is your DD I wouldnt do it. Unless you do some extreme wheeling. Plus long arm kits are a bit more expensive. Just my 2 cents. But goodluck none the less

If its your dd then I wouldnt get long arms. you wouldnt need them. the RE 3.5in is more then enough for you. If you get that lift then get it in the super flex version. The super flex comes with disconnects for more flex then the super ride and it will be a little better off road.

long arms also give you a much smoother ride closer to stock on the road because the upper control arms do not push up against the unibody after going over every bump.
