If you'd seen what it did to that cat, you'd believe that a mech. fan can take an arm off. It wasn't like it was just cut up and stuff, no... bones were shattered, spine and skull pulverized, it absolutely destroyed that thing. That fan didn't even know that cat was there... I have no doubt that it would be able to cut straight through your arm, bone and all...

My dog does worse when he accidentally catches one, cats are tender...
a human arm has a thick bone in it, fan palettes will bend, but the arm stays where it is.

Lol, I like how you say "accidentally".

Thats true, I forget jeeps have plastic fans, my buddies car was old school, it had a metal fan...

At either rate, I think it's agreed, even a thermoplastic fan will mess you up bad, haha, so best not stick anything in it.

We are talking about the belt driven rad fan, right? It's plastic? Not on our '98........metal rad fan here.

Nope, the mech fan in an XJ is definitely metal.

The electrical high-flow fans in an XJ are thermoplastic, but the mechanical fan is made out of what looks to be 18 or 20 gauge stamped steel

Dang, I feel like a noob for saying it, but I never really looked at my mech. fan. I knew the electric one was thermoplastic, but I honestly never took a close look at the mech. fan.

Ha, that's just a warm up for my wife, years ago she got 4 cats when she started up her old Buick Special!! A few years ago two more with the Expedition. I enjoy auto detailing but not when I have to remove diced cat. I'm the one who doesn't like them and I've never done that.
