I have an anonymous switch, that no local cherokee owners have, beside my radio. Nobody has one or knows what it is. It does not do anything (at least as far as I can tell.) And when i had the dash apart this summer that was my least concern so I did not go hunting to see what it led to. But, do any of you guys have this switch and light? Previous owner didnt know what it was, and like I have said I have not seen another cherokee, even same year, with one. But, it looks factory.
It's not a stock part. The po must have had it tied into something. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure would be go back into the dash and trace the the wires.
Ahhh ok. The previous owner did not do it so musta been the one before him haha, and Ill give the guy credit because it is eceptionally clean. Im gonna use that area for switches next year anyway.

Looks like it was added by some previous owner. With the light above, could be almost anything. I've added two switches over the course of the 24+ years that I've had mine. One is an aux switch for the electric fan (with pilot light), the other is an alarm system, with a light that flashes when the system is on.
The signal emitted then lets G.I. Joe command central know that you are in close proximity to S.E.P.T.R.E and its command HQ where COBRA is planning the take-over of the world! They then will dispatch 007 PRONTO!
But seriously, dude,.................. aftermarket, for lightbar/light kit, or even tow-package braking mechanism. You have adjustable air shocks on yer beast? possible it was once for that.
Or, whomever owned it before may have just installed it there so the "next" owner would say "WTF is this switch for?" And he is probably STILL laughing!
be your own detective, trace the wiring out. if you can, then use it for any add-ons you may wish to install, then you already have a circuit mounted switch!
(I still think its COBRA command locator button)......
