What is the stock wheel size
What are the dimensions of the OEM XJ wheels? 15x7? What is the backspacing? Would 4" of backspacing stick out on a 15x7 rim with 235/75/15s?
My pops wants to get some black steelies for his stocker, but is not looking for an aggressive look and he doesn't want to earn tickets either.
Thanks,
s

XJ wheels are 5.25" factory backspacing. The sidewalls would stick out an additional 1.25". This can work with larger wider tires but imho would look silly with stock size tires.
If Pops just wants the black wheel look consider painting the stock wheels?

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I totally agree that this setup could start to look really silly if the backspacing is off. I suppose I could paint the stockers, but I'm only visiting for a couple days and his wheels are pretty rusted out. My fear is that it is too large of a project and would eat all the family time I'd have. I don't have any tools here to speed the process, so it would be a chore.
Step 2, which actually is my preference, is to find a JY and pull some factory aluminum wheels. They would have similar wear on them so it would look right. I guess I'll start trying to hunt down some JYs. I don't know what they're worth to a JY, but I'm not willing to spend much on beat up factory wheels.
By the way, wheel painting is not new to me: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/wh...50/#post124671
