seafoam is used as a fuel system treatment, oil additive, and engine cleaner. it's suppose to clean fuel injectors, carbon buildup, removes moisture in fuel, frees sticky lifters and rings and cleans pcv systems. you're suppose to only use 1 can. on the can it tells the consumer to put 1/3 in the vacuum line, 1/3 in the crank case & 1/3 in the gas tank.

seafoam removes carbon buildup from your rings and valves.
Carbon can make your rings stick or hold a valve open slightly and cause rough running.....1 can thru every couple of fillups for a month or so will clean it out nicely, then use one can a month to keep it that way.

I always wondered if using a can of sea foam would require you to get a new cat in order pass emissions. I would think, it would bog it up pretty bad and add the equivalent of years of use.

That link is pretty good. I'd probably change the oil filter to be oversized before pouring in the sea foam. Then drive it and let it cool then change the oil as well, wah lah.
