Question What size tires should I get?

I have a 1995 Cherokee with no lift, I was just wondering what would be the biggest tires I could put on it without interfering with the steering and wheel wells. I was told that I could put 31s on them without having to lift the jeep, but I am looking for a second opinion

31's will rub. I put 30's on stock rims and they don't rub.

Largest factory size was P225/75R15. I use LT235/75R15 and they have never rubbed.

+1
235's seem to be the largest tire you can consistently use stock.

30x9.5's will fit good. 31x10.5's will fit with trimming and wider rims. Next time you need to search just use google. Try something like "jeep cherokee xj tire size" or something similar. You can also try searching for naxja, jeep forum, cherokee talk, and a few other similar forums.

a friend of mine just put 30s on his stock steel wheels. they don't rub full lock. but look like they would if flexed. driving normal is fine.

Its more the width thats making you rub. My 31x10.5.15s rubbed my lca's on stock wheels even before full lock much less flexing, to fix that you can 1)adjust the steering stops 2) wheelspacers or more offset wheels.
