Question What Size Tires?

What are the biggest tires you can fit on an 87 xj without a lift or cutting?

I have a stock 94 XJ country with stock wheels and 235-75x15. They do rub a little on the inside when turning lock to lock. My suspension is good with no sag.

Ragle, thanks for the question, bud. 30s or 235s are all the bigger you can go on your tires without lifting or cutting . To make 31s fit and ride without rubbing, you're looking at a 3" lift. There are many budget options out there to lift an XJ 3 inches. My son and I found a great 3" budget boost for an XJ at a place called Fat Bob's. He operates out of, I believe Ogden, Utah. The kit was 3" front spacers and 3" rear AALs for right around $100 shipped. You would of course have to get shocks and that would be extra.
