I just bought a hardware kit at an automasters for mine. I think it was $6 for one side (2 bolts and two new slider tubes). Mine is a 2001, but its an M8-1.25 threaded hex bolt that is about 2.63" long if that helps. I think the older XJ's like yours had a hex allen head not an external hex like the newers, but you might be able to convert (they are a lot easier to take on/off IMO).

im look what size allen wrench to use. because i dont have any big enough and i dont want to buy a whole set

i think it is a 7mm allen or hex bit but i dont want to pay five dollars for one bit

i borrowed a wrench and got them off. also i went to napa, carquest, advance trying to find a caliper and every one of them tried to to sell me a caliper for a 4wd even i told them it was a 2wd. Autozone was the only one that actually had the right part even though they had to order it

It is 7mm on 92 2wd MJ. Any decent auto parts store should have a 3/8" drive 7mm allen bit...worth every penny.
