Default What the problem is....

Ive been noticing, if i pull my XJ back in 4-Low, especially on the road and turn its like the front and rearend both are welded up and too gets a death wooble feel in the front end, this is at like a 2 to 3 mph literally. and if you get it flexed out with the wheels turned the front will pop maybe once. What could cause this?, ive checked the front end, the universals are tight, the hub assembly seems fine. Its not been an abused Jeep or really ever been offroad.

don't do it on the road, only on the trail where the wheels can slip. it's normal, it's called binding. if you do it on the road where a wheel can't slip, you risk blowing a u-joint, or even worse, stretching or popping your t-case chain.

who knows exactly what the pop was you heard, it could be a number of things, since when you had it in 4lo, the driveline stress is effecting many different parts.

Thats because you shouldnt even use 4hi on the road, because yes the front get locked and the wheels can not spin at dirfferent speeds around even slight turns, thatll cause all the problems you are having, only use 4lo offroad when you need it, and 4hi on road in deep snow. other than that stick to 2hi

I have 2 driveways, they are about 35 feet apart, when i noticed it doing this i was pulling out of 1 and was turning to go into the other at a very low speed, just crawling. I know not to run it in 4low on the road and the popping noise has only happened while being offroad.
