What is this plug for?
I'm still finding different stuff on my recently purchased '93 XJ and found this fuse holder hanging under the dash on the drivers side. It looks bigger because of the angle I'm holding it on but it holds a standard auto fuse. I tried putting a fuse in it just to see what would happen and my 2 front speakers stopped working. When I took the fuse back out they started working again. Any ideas?

You've probably discovered by now that the '93 has a lot of wiring for optional stuff.
I think I have seen one of those under my dash and will check tomorrow if you don't have an answer by then. I'm not so sure that is a fuse holder, especially since it affects radio output. I'm thinking it might be a connector for a speaker to fit behind the little tweeter grill there in the lower dash. At least I assume it's for a tweeter although it certainly isn't in the ideal place for one.
In that area you will also should find connectors for courtesy under dash lights if you don't already have them. Easy to add if you are interested.

I'm just curious. If you have a spare speaker around, hook that up and see what it does! (I hope it doesn't just make "boom boom", jungle drum noise)
