Default What is this part

Sorry no pic,but it is some sensor or switch under the battery.Built into the tray.I am planning on building a new tray to hold a bigger battery and i was wondering if i need to keep this part.So what is it.

Default

Battery temperature sensor. Yes you need it. It's commected to your PCM and you'll get a Check Engine Light without it.

seriously?

what years are these in?

I'm upgrading to a 95 xj harness engine trans etc. and don't have that tray...

Sounds like 96+ XJs. My 91 doesn't have that one, TG. That's about the only useless XJ upgrade mine doesn't have....

My 98 sport didn't have one and i have had the battery try out plenty of times before she got wrecked.

My tray was just a piece on flat metal bent to fit with holes in it. Either some PO had takin it out or it was some where else but it want on the tray.

I wish I had pics to show but I never thought to take pic of the tray.
