Chasing a no start problem I came across this under the dash, near the steering column, and my failed start attempts seem to warm it up, it’s hot. What is it, and could it be bad and causing my no-start? Thanks.

 

This is just a guess, but it may be the capacitor that keeps the courtesy key circle lit when the door is opened. It stays on for a couple of minutes then dies out. Like I said, just a guess. I hope someone who knows chimes in, so I can find out if I'm right.
