What is my broken transmission worth?

I have an extra transmission that came out of my 88 XJ. I was told that it was actually made by Toyota and is more expensive than the dodge transmissions. I was just wondering if it would be worth anything at all. I don't know what is wrong with it but I do know it doesn't work and will probably need to be rebuilt. I was going to ask the mechanic that is working on my current transmission if he wanted it in exchange for a discount on my bill.

If it can be rebuilt than maybe like $50 otherwise its a good anchor

Maybe I would do just as good by recycling it.

Take it to a transmission shop, they may give you core value for it.

I'm interested in this cause I've got my old AW4 sitting in my basement right now. But my plans for it was to make a table out of it for my man cave lol.
