My frustration level with this Jeep is starting to peak. Could this leaking line have anything to do with overheat issues now? Gets to right before the red (i shut it off) and the heat is not working. Seems like it is one thing after another just to get to be a daily driver.

 

The heat never works? Or just when you're over heating?
Check your coolant levels and your Heater core hoses. When I got my xj my heat didn't work, figured out why when I pulled the hoses off and found lots of black gunk everywhere

 

Heat has been working great. Till yesterday when the heat wouldnt come on (just blowing cold air) and it got close to overheating before I shut it off.

Does your upper rad hose have pressure? I highly doubt it but maybe your water pump went?
