I just got my build sheet
"DRAS Corporate 8.25 Rear Axle"
and now I'm 100% positive I have a classic which I was pretty much sure it was. I bought it without any badges and the dealer called in a sport.

What does the rear Chry 8.25 have to do with it being a Classic and not a sport? My 93 Sport has the Chry 8.25.Originally Posted by BOOMroasted

Very useful unless someone did a swap. However only a moron would swap an 8.25 out to put in a D35.Originally Posted by ezab

So if it says D35 it could still go either way, if it says 8.25 you can be reasonably certain its correct.

Ya 98jeepsrt6's pic is spot on. You can actually tell how heavy duty the 8.25 is compared to the dana 35.

This fill plug looks like it's almost at the halfway point on the axle. Mine sits much lower down.Originally Posted by dukie564

"The new two-wheel-drive models shared the front suspension with four-wheel-drive models. Jeep simply used a single axle tube from hub to hub with no differential between, resulting in a low added cost front suspension."

4x4 = differentials front and rear
4x2 = differential rear only, straight axle in front
