your 98' will have a asin warner trans, (if its an auto). front axle will be a Dayna 30 high pinion (a plus). the transfer case will be a NP231. and the rear axle will be a Chrysler 8.25.

any other questions feel free to ask.

Are you sure you want to tell him it "will be" when other options were available?

The Transfer case could also be a NP242, and the rear axle could also be a Dana 35 with or without ABS.

Tcase, what is the shift pattern on the indicator bezel?
NP231 2Hi, 4Hi, N, 4Lo
NP242 2wd, 4 part time, 4 full time, N, 4Lo

Rear axle identification.. the left one is the Chrysler 8.25 most commonly identified by the flat spot on the bottom of the differential housing and the right is the Dana 35
