What is this "key" for?
Hi all,
Have searched the forum and the net but can't find the answer....not even mentioned in my handbook !
With the keys came a small, inch or so long, three pinned "key" that fits into a recess next to the gear stick/shift.It has "auto watch"written on it so I guess it's some security device? The two keys that came with the car are black so are not chipped.....what exactly is it,how does it work and what does it do?! I don't have a keylees entry fob either so don't know if that works in conjunction with it....

Most likely the "valet" switch for an aftermarket alarm but I would wait for someone more knowledgeable than I to chime in. This happens quite frequently, folks finding odd switches under the dash or strange keys that appear to do nothing. Most of the time, it went to some sort of aftermarket security system that was removed long ago. They leave the key receptacle or switch or button in place because it looks better than the hole left in it's absence.
