1998 Cherokee 4.0L:

Is this the vacuum tube that leads to the leak detection pump (Pic 1). It is on the intake manifold. The diagrams in the parts catalog are hard to match up. I noticed that this rubber elbow is broken(pic 2), Is that a problem? I have no Service Engine Lights on.

most likely theres a vacuum leak there if thats what your asking

 

I'm pretty sure that's your crank case breather tube.

It leads around the back of the engine behind the vacuum canister to the item in the second pic, is that the MAP?

 

deff not the map i think thats on your throttle body ,most likely pollution something maybe purge valve
