I think that's the sensor for the key-less entry system. Take it down and the code for the remote is written inside.

SERIOUSLY! i couldn't help but feel like I was being watched, good thing I covered it with tape and wore my tin foil helmet...
...
keyless entry, that makes sense. I know my jeep came with it, but all I got when I bought it was a single key.... Ima rip it out.

Don't do that. You can buy the remote-fobs on-line but you need the numbers inside that thing to program the fobs.
Plus it'll leave holes in your headliner.

that particular keyless entry system is junk, its based on IR like a TV remote. You have to basically be standing next to your jeep with the remote pointed at the sensor for it to work. Plus the remotes are like 70$ on ebay.

For about 40$ you can wire an aftermarket keyless system into the harness that sensor uses and have a much better keyless system.

Take off the sensor and mount your CB up there! There was a hole dead center that was perfect for my Cobra mounting bracket - no drilling necessary

On your 93 you dont even need the code or help from the dealer. You can get a 3rd party keyfob (look on the internet) that you program yourself-- I did it in my old 93 XJ. Sorry but I cant remember the name of the company who made them, but I do remember they were cheaper than the Chrysler ones, maybe $30.

After 96 or so you need to get any new keyfobs programmed at the dealer's.

Its the SPY CAMERA!

Just kidding. Its the old fashoined I/R keyless entry sensor. You need to basically hold your remote to the window glass before it sees it anyway..

I modded mine. I installed a keyless entry/remote start from Oreilleys(sp) auto and threw my CB up there..

I forgot it was that time of the month for the spy camera Q's.

Still waiting for the "Jeep Egg in the bumper" questions now.
