Whats a good gear ratio to run on my xj, im getting 33x12.5's and its mostly my dd, i do a good amount of highway driving, especially this year coming up because im moving to south carolina and im gonna be back and forth from Virginia to there, so i want good street power but also good power for mud, trails, etc. cause i still do alot of that too

Dude, for a DD i wouldnt go that big. go for 31's. and if you can afford it, run two different sets. one for trail, one for the road. then you can leave your gear ratios alone, they are that way for a reason. before re-gearing, (which i took the time and effort to do on my wrangler (yes i know) and it wasnt that different) try a cold air intake and throttle body spacer, and a superchip- they'll give you back some of the lost power, and itll be cheaper, plus the chip is something youll have to do anyway if you decide to re-gear. just my two cents. i want to save you some trouble.

i already have a chip, intake, and exhaust, its got alot of power already and i have 31's right now and it doesnt even really feel like they are there, i feel like a should at least be able to get away with 32's no problem

CAI-BS
TB Spacer-BS
Superchip-Bad, why mess around with the fuel/air? Leads to problems.

Mathematically 4.14:1 with 33s would be equivalent to stock tires & gears but I would think 33X12.50 tires would be much heavier than stock 225/75/15 tires so 4.56 up would be better.

I think its pointless to REGEAR to 4.10's when you can find 8.8's and rare hpd30's in the JY that CAME STOCK WITH 4.10's. If your going to re-gear do it once and do it right, go to 4.56.

Yukon and Superior seem to be the gear of choice for most Cherokee guys. That's what I've run atleast.
