What to do after flooding
 

So...this happened today.

Pretty sure I managed to keep water out of the intake, so I should still have a running engine - once I find some way to get it out - but what's next? I'm obviously going to have to let everything dry, and clean everything as much as possible from all the grit that'll be on it/in it, but what else should I be checking out? Diff fluid? Trans fluid? Transfer case fluid? I've never misjudged this badly - always double-check depth, even if you've been through there a million times! - so I'm not sure what I should be looking for, mechanically.

100% You'll need to check/change all oils. Electricals will be your worst enemy here, you should check all connectors, clean them out with contact cleaner and use some dielectric grease on them when reconnecting them.As long as it didn't go any deeper, hopefully most of your dash wiring should have avoided a good dampening. Don't forget to also clean up your fuse board/box along with your light units.

I'd also suggest once dried out to use a rust prevention such as Wax Oyl in whatever panel you can get at.

Plan to change all the fluids this week - already had everything to do all the fluids except the transmission - so that's good. Need to buy a gross of WD-40.

This Jeep lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and hasn't had doors for two or three years now, so probably some Wax Oyl would be a good idea, anyway! Lots of my dashboard interior frame started seriously rusting this year from the salt spray. I guess some cars, like, seal up somehow in the winter? Weird.
