Question What Can It Be HELP HELP HELP

Hey i just picked up a 99 cherokee that im building up and it was running beautiful till i took it into the woods one day and when i came back out it wasnt running right.

The jeep was struggling a little more then usual to get up to speed and then it bucks almost like a misfire or as if some one was to tap the brakes at very random times and then mainly when I take it up around 40 to 50 mph.

Their is no check engine light on

I have just done a full tune up

And yet it still dose the same thing

Can any one tell me what is wrong with it because i have tried everything or so it seams...

I changed the coil cap rotor wires and plugs along with all the fluids in the jeep it has 135,000 on the body and just a little over 10,000 on the motor.

And i took it threw sandy mud and water nothing deeper then the body line thow

the 242 trans case was stuck in 4x4 when i got out of the trail and didn't pop out till 20 min down the road but because of that i replaced it with a np231 so its not that

Did you check the air filter? You might have gotten some water in it.

Maybe you got mud or water in the gas tank. Did you change the fuel filter?Try pulling the tps,iac and cps and clean them really good before you go dumping $ into it.

^ agreed, my buddies toyota did it. Was runnin fine we went to a concert and on the way home I was driving and felt it loosing power. Eventually it got to were it wouldnt do 25mph. We left it came back the next day unbolted the cat and drove it home. What happens is either the core of the cat gets clogged or it breaks up and cloggs the muffler.

so i took the cat out and just mad my own exaust (ill have pics of it up soon) but besides that fact the jepp is still being funky i found out my ac was kicking on all the time so i pulled the fuse for that so now it has a little more power

but its still acting funny the sympothms that its having now are

vibrations when heavy tourqe load sometimes (like going up hills )
trouble picking up speed
and bucking every once in a while but more offten when i hit 40 to 60 mph
when i step on it it gose but has a good amount of vibration
also downshifts and up shifts late

has no problem just putting around 15 to 20 mph

could this be my trans?

check every single bolt jousing your exhaust, i know this sounds like bull**** but its realio. check your torque converter. and the trannys mts, and your engee mts. i had a similar probl;em that was all exhaust mts. and elements "cleaning themselveS" from older ccs.
