I have an old minivan that is not going to be driven ever again what all can i take off that has a core charge worth taking to an auto parts store?

 

It doesnt work that way. Parts stores charge a core charge when you buy an item.. which is usually a rebuilable. Then when you bring the old in you get your money back. They dont just buy rebuildable parts outright.

 

You could part out the big and odd items then scrap the rest. There are a few items worth scrapping at different places for example the catalytic converter.

 

Weld the diff, cut the fenders as much as you can, and fit the biggest tires you can on it. PVC snorkel it for good measure and run it til it dies. I always thought it'd be funny to see an offroad minivan...

 

That would be sweet. They did make the caravans 4x4 at one point in time...just sayin

 

Sorry man, it doens't work that way. You have to pay the charge first.

 

cut out the cat and sell it. sell the tires if there decent and drag the rest to the scrap yard. should be worth a few hundred.
