i have a 92 cherokee with the 4.0 i am having a hard time finding a good used motor that doesnt have alot of miles,,,i can find alot of 98 or newer,, will they interchange or what do i need to change to make them work

 

They are interchange but they changed the head a few different times. I would get it and just strip it down to a long block and then put all you componets back on. If I remember right the 98 head is better than the 7120 head that came on the 92 but some one chime in if thats wrong.

 

I can't find a low mileage motor either, so I have been looking into an internet long block. I have not found anybody thats actually bought one but I think thats what I am going to do.

 

try a 258 they bolt right in and are carbed.
