Default What is this?

So I replaced my fuel injector rail along w/my injectors yesterday and I noticed the new rail I bought doesn't have this one piece on it, and I haven't been able to figure out what the hell it is. If anyone could inform me what it is I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

That is a dampener to help eliminate pulses in the fuel rail from the injectors. Not a big deal if the new rail does not have it.

That's what I thought it was at first, but there was nothing connected to it like the one in the picture has below, the one in the picture is from a '95 and mine's an '01.

Hey, if you don't mind me asking... where did you get the fuel rail, and how much?

Did you upgrade/mod the injectors. I'm looking to do this in the distant future as soon as I finish the overhaul of the front end, and lift kit install.

Thanks,

JR

Sorry for the late reply man, I don't really check back here. I bought the fuel rail & injectors off eBay. The injectors I bought were $130 and were remanufactured already by the guy. The ones I had on my XJ were stock with the one pintle hole, the new ones I bought had 4. The guy I bought them off still has a bunch http://www.ebay.com/sch/leah7306/m.html and the fuel rail I paid $85 + shipping from a guy out in CA. My fuel rail was pretty rusted out so I decided to just replace it at the same time. Hope this helps
