It's part of the mounting where the old sway bar USED to be. You both lose. There is no sway bar...

It also doubles as a taco holder. (Soft taco of course)

Ha Ha! But he did ask what it went to, not what it was.
You could prolly get a burrito or hot dog in there as well.

I thought it was for the rear gun mounts.

People steal them all the time. You really need alarm system in your neighborhood.
What do your neighbors drive? Lots of sway bars fit XJs.

Rear swaybars are useless, so i wouldn't worry about it. Everyone i know has their's removed. I'm gonna be taking mine out too soon.
