Default What is this???

I recently changed my water pump and was putting everything back together. As I was putting the air filter box back I saw this black tube with a white piece stuffed into it. I don't remember taking this off anything when I removed the box. It doesn't seem to go to anything. The tube comes up between the master brake cylinder and the wiper res. I don't see how it would be attached to anything especially with the plastic piece stuffed in the end.

Here's a picture. It's the black tube sticking straight up in the middle of the picture. Anybody have an idea??? Thanks!

Looks like the breather vent for the front differential. Keep it elevated so no moisture can get in.

So it doesn't get plugged in to anything. It just stays like it is?

nope, then it can't breathe lets it breathe without the risk of sucking water into your diff when playing in puddles.

Yup. Its the vent tube for your diff and no it does not get pluged into anything. Leave it as it is.

Yeah it's sole purpose is to be high enough that water won't be sucked into it only air. Kinda like a snorkel for your diff.
