Default Wet Passenger Floor board: Trying to locate the leak

After rain storms my right front passenger floor board is pretty wet. Any suggestions on where the leak is coming from and what to do to fix it? Thanks!

There are a couple of drain holes under the cowl that can get plugged up and allow water to leak into the cab. Just take the cowl off and clean them out if they are blocked.

Are you sure it's from the rain? Have you recently started running your a/c? Maybe that is clogged.

I've had the same problem. My suggestion to you is to take out the carpet and seats and watch where the water is coming from.
That being said, my leaks were coming from a crack in the rear wheel well (water was being flung up when the wheel was spinning), from the grommet up under the dash that let's the radio antenna out, and what I'm assuming is the overflow of the cowl drain. But I'm not sure on the last one.
I also had a problem with the rear right window leaking and filling up the cubby hole back there, then the water would all come pouring to the front when I was stopping.
Hope that helps!

Which cowl are you referring to?

No, have not ran the AC at all yet, but thank you for the suggestion.

It's not a DD and mine will get wet from it being parked, so I think I can rule any water getting flung up.

Ok cool. That narrows it down. That still leaves the drain, the grommet, and I just remembered that the weatherstripping was leaking too. Haha. So when you get a chance just check out those areas.

Had the same problem in my 1998. Found that it was coming in through the windshield seal. I ran a bead of black silicon under the rubber seal, and passenger floor has been dry since.

To prevent mold growth. If you have a major leak.

-Remove all your carpet put in a dry area
-Pressure wash and bleach/ mildew, mold remover the inside.
- Let inside completely dry
- if you can I suggest bed liner the inside
- also with the carpets out spray the back matting with Aquanet(this seals in any potential growth)

Trust me I work Restoration

Thank you for the recommendation and suggestions. I'd like to replace the carpet anyway since the previous owner stained it up pretty good.

The cowl that I'm referring to is the one where the windshield wipers are.

Gotcha. They look clear on the outside. Is that something I should take off and make sure it's cleaned underneath?
