I recently acquired an unmolested 2000 California/NLEV version XJ. It has Bosch 0280155789 injectors (the green ones). If the injectors were swapped out it was a long time ago based on the grunge on the fuel rail and injector clips. It seems not beyond possibility that Chrysler used these to lower engine out HC emissions.


As I am wondering how long the things have been in there was curious what injectors are in other folks 2000 Cal/NLEV vehicles (if they have not been changed).

It came from the factory with "Blue Tip" injectors, not 789's. 789's were installed in Chrysler mini vans with a V6. I think the 789's are not what you need. They spray at an angle, not straight in.

It's interesting that the Bosch 0280155789 injectors seem to be a popular "upgrade" injector for XJ's of this vintage. I will say that mine starts instantly, has great drivability, and FE is as advertised.


I no longer have Highland Park as a source of this sort of info.

Sure they don't say 0280155784? Those are the infamous upgrade
