Breather for the front axle.

Check the front pig tward the top, there should be a hole. The plastic fitting in the last pic will fit into it.

Does it need any adhesive or anything or is it just a clip on.
Where does it connect to from the top?

Curious.. Wats the purpose of this tube?

It just presses in to the hole. The tube is a breather, it keeps the diff from building pressure. When the gears are turning at high speed it creats pressure in the diff from all the fluid being churned by the gears, this tube lets it out.

It is long, to keep water out of the diff, if this tube were plugged or pinched the diff would build enough pressure to push the fluid out at all the seals.

Its not the gears turning that create the pressure its the fact that friction in there creates heat and heat makes things like oil and air expand. this tube allows the excess air to vent out.

Dont even consider driving through any water crossings with this tube removed unless you want your differential filled with water.

It runs up the UCA and then up the firewall near the brake booster area. You will "probably" be ok if its dry out. If its raining I would find another way to work. But like G P said the fliud expands when it get hot, this could cause it to also spew out of the new hole you have in your front diff.

It might spew a little oil out.

Main thing is not to let dirt or water in there.
