Default Weird trans problem

So I was driving Friday and all of a sudden my trans started acting super weird.

All of a sudden it's like it just jumped out of gear and wouldn't pull any more. I cut the jeep off and started back up and it went into gear an drive I could feel it switch from first to second and when it should have switched to 3 it felt like it jumped out of gear. And wouldn't switch back into gear. I limped it home and changed the fluid that in the pan just to see if there was trash in it and it was kinda milky so I got 4 quarts and replaces it it drove fine for about 3 miles and then started doing the same thing again. Please help me with this

If it's milky your trans cooler is leaking and the trans is junk

The first thing to find out is if the trans cooler (the one in the rad) is leaking. Pressure-testing the cooling system with the trans cooler lines disconnected from the rad should indicate this, if it is leaking coolant should come out the bottom trans cooler fitting with the system under pressure.

If it is leaking, as Clint Eastwood once said "do you feel lucky, well do ya ..".

Odds are that the clutch packs are shoot if coolant got in the fluid, they don't like water (or coolant). If you caught it early and get all the contaminated fluid out you may be ok but I wouldn't bet on it, especially if it was shifting funny.
