So I just picked up this 1990 Jeep Cherokee with straight 6, everything is a gem except a few quirks here and there. One problem I'm having is if the engine warms up and I don't have the gas pedal depressed at all. it idles into a stall, as you can see this can get annoying. It doesn't sputter, hesitate, or bog down whatsoever however, if you let off the gas it eventually stalls within 5 seconds. give or take a second.

Anybody have any suggestions as to the source of issue. or where to look

 

Check your iac (idle air control) for blockage mine used to do that till I cleaned it. It's on the side of the throttle body
