Default weird clunking over bumps after lift!

okay so a few weeks ago i put on a used 6.5" rustys lift on my cherokee. i had weeks of death wobble problems ended up replacing bushings and track bar. i thought it was all fixed but as soon as i put the CA's back in i drove it and over every little bump it clunks. i tightened everything up real good one more time and i still have the noises. it sounds like its coming from the hubs to me. maybe my hubs won't unlock from 4 wheel? i dont know what it is. aren't the front driveline and cv's supposed to spin freely in 2 wheel? i don't know i think something is wrong with the 4 wheel drive and its got me all flustered!! anyone have any ideas?

-alignment?
-balance/rotate your tires? tire pressure, lugs, etc.
-what bushings did you replace?
-did you replace it with an adj. tracbar?
-do you have an sye?

check stuff like that first. with that much lift you may want a drop pitman arm. if it feels like its in the front, take out your front ds and drive it and see if its still there, if it goes away, it could be ujoints. check your hubs and wheel bearings just for good measure. might wanna grease everything too.

i aligned it after i replaced the bushings- all four lower CA bushings and two uppers where it connects to the frame. the tires are good and balanced. adjustable tracbar. i haven't installed the sye yet but it doesn't seem like that could be the problem when its coming from the front right? i never did get a drop pitman though...

drop pitman arms arent needed unless you go above 6 inches, otherwise they just cause bump steer.. you dont need one, but if you want one that bad go ahead....

which is why i suggested a drop pitman arm...

but honestly, sometimes its difficult to diagnose these problems via the internet as opposed to actually being able to experience it first hand.

Search on the forum for similar threads, I have seen a lot of people with the same problem on here and they did usually did write ups on what they did. So search and look to see what they did to fix it bud.

I would check for worn paint spots on any of the lift components. I think your coils might be hitting your trac bar mount.

Most of the time if the noise wasn't there before you installed the lift.. it is something you put on during the lift.

my jeep was doing the same thing. turned out i needed a new double caragan (think that is how its spelt) on my front driveshaft. Its the double u-joints on the t-case side. the shaft from the factory is non greasable. new shaft with all u-joints cost 175. thats if you have a factory driveshaft. can you "feel" the noise in the floorboards?

What kind of sway bar links are you running ?? I know they can be noisy on bumps mine were before I switched to the RE gen 2 style. Are you useing the proper length shocks and are they any good ?? Start simple , its probably there....

Yeah and if that cardan joint is causing it you won't really be able to test it without removing it from the jeep. Mine was clunking like mad but was tight in park.. Pulled it off the jeep and you could easily move it around in ways it shouldn't. Repalced the Centering ball yoke and u-joints and the thing worked perfect.
