weak frame

Default weak frame

so i got an older XJ [ 95 ] and the rust has reached my frame pretty bad. its rotton all near the leafs.

how can i support and strengthen it so i can keep it road legal.


it has sag on it from a jack holding it and yea you get the point its bad.

Start plateing the uni-body,jack it up where its rotted first before you plate it so it will be pre loaded when you set it down. good luck

how should i plate by bolting or welding and what do you recommend as a plate

Both welding and bolting the best of both world. Use at least 1/8 inch plate if you can't find a U shaped peice any where drill holes and alternate plug weld then bolt or what will work the best for the situation at hand. pmed him on buying unitbody stiffeners.
