Default Waterpump 90 xj 4.0

Now I'm really confused on the whole WP standard/reverse flow I have a 1990 xj 4.0 i6L-
Guy at napa, showed me a pump with a R stamped on the impeller, and said it was a standard flow ? Another one he showed me matching mine without the R stamped, was a standard flow?
Does someone have a part # please?? 1990 4.0 i6L I need the water pump and need to know if I'm supposed to have a reverse flow or not . ??

Do you have the old pump off yet? If not, take it off and take it with you and match it up. Pay attention to which way the impeller blades face.

Yea it's been off and I did take it there the direction matches my WP .
It my understanding that I'm supposed to have a reverse flow ?
And the one he showed me matched up to mine but didn't have the R on the impeller for reverse flow. And the second WP parts guy at napa showed me was remanufactured and did have a r stamped on the impeller, but he said that one was a standard flow this is why I'm confused .
The smooth Side of my serpentine belt rides over the top of my WP pulley so I'm assuming I have a reverse flow?

Yep.Smooth side is reversed. No worries about the absence of the R. Go put it in.

as long as the impeller blades match and face the same direction as the one you removed, you're golden

Agreed, do a visual match and if everything looks the same - bolt it on there.
If not, bring the old one with you to the parts store so you can visually match everything up there.
