Water on transmission dipstick

Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4wd 4.0 6 cyl. Neighbors daughter's Jeep...
Engine runs, can drive Is it just in need of a fluid change or is the tranny going?

If it's an automatic it's the radiator. If there is coolant in the transmission, it's toast.
