Post water spraying up from radiator area

98 jeep cherokee 4.0

I was adding oil, and then i started the car. As im standing there with the hood open, i feel like im getting wet a little. So i press the throttle to rev the engine and a spray of water comes up and wets. The harder i press it, the more water comes up. It looks like its pooling up at the bottom of the rear of the radiator ?

Also, i do have coolant in the system, but im pretty sure this was water cause it was clear and didn't smell. What could this be and is it safe to drive?

The vehicle does not overheat.

I would check all the rad hoses and tighten them down. You really need to find the source of the leak, it's safe to drive until whatever is spewing fluid catastrophically fails and leaves you stranded on the side of the road. I guess if you have tow coverage you can worry about it when it happens... Personally I would flush it and replace the upper and lower rad hoses, possibly the radiator too. Don't overlook the water pump and thermostat housing as possible leak sources either.
