Default Water pump issue

Hey guys been a while. I got an odd water pump issue on the 87 comanche. The two new ones I bought do not fit correctly. The bottom bolt on the power steering bracket will not go in, also the water inlet tube hits the T-stat housing. The old one will fit just fine with the tube on. Im just not sure whats going on. Has anyone ran into this problem?

Well 95 wasn't the change over year....but doesn't mean Jeep didn't do something odd.
Have you checked diagrams in the FSM on yours yet? Also maybe make note of the part number on the ones that did not fit correctly and look up for a possible additional one for that year.
Another thing.... are you sure it's the original plant?.... it hasn't been swapped out somewhere by a PO possibly?

I know that's not a direct answer... but maybe it will give you a good place to start.
