Clutch does.not run all the time. Partially runs or freewheels until the engine gets hot.

Replaced t stat still hot, how can I get air out of the system? The t stat doesn't have the pin holes in? Can I drill them in it? This is my first experience with mopar. Been a pain in my ****

Yes I drilled a 7/16 hole in mine. Then just run it with the rad cap off and add water. You're lucky you have an open system. Mines closed and its a real pain to burp the air out of

Turn the heater on full hot, fan on low, leave rad cap off. Start engine and watch the coolant level. You want to keep the rad topped off and make sure your coolant reservoir has a 50/50 mix in it. Oh....very important to maintain a 50/50 coolant/water solution. When the coolant level drops it means the t-stat opened letting more water into the rad. When the temp gauge runs at or below 210 for about 5 minutes with the rad cap off, heater on, and no more bubbles coming out the rad you should be good to go. If there is any air after that is should be self burping.

Hope it helps...You did change oil when you replaced the head gasket? Also hoping you you checked the head to make certain it isn't warped out of spec.

The hole makes it easier to burp especially on a closed system. It's too small to really effect the warm up. Running without a t-stat for an extended period will cause build up in tje system.

Drilled 2 1/8 holes put back together and still running hot, so still is it safe to run without a t stat, what kind of build up, would a warped head still run fine without a t stat,I didn't have it checked

It get above 210 before I cut it off, I don't let it get to the red. What does the electrical connector on the t stat do? Could it be bad? Could the heater valve cause it to run hot? I'm about out causes? Frustration has set in!!
