Question Water leak into Floorboards

Hey Cherokee forum! I've searched around a bit on the boards here and can't quite seem to find the answer I am looking for. I am in the process of fixing up my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. When it rains heavily, water will sometimes pool up at the front floor boards. I would like some help identifying the areas where this water might be coming from, so that I can work to get them sealed up. I pulled up a portion of the front carpet today to start getting ready for putting down some fatmat to help with the sound. It hasn't rained in about a week, but there's still a lot of moisture in the insulation. I live in SC right on the beach so there's a lot of humidity, etc. Any thoughts?

Your floorboards are sheet metal. Steel. Nothing can leak into them.

The door gaskets/window gaskets. The cowl vent or the windshield its self isn't fully sealed anymore.

My leak in my '00 was the windshield seal. Had some paint work done to deal with surface rust issues on the roof and hood. Figured while my body guy had it he could deal with that too in case when the windshield was removed there was more going on there then just a bad seal. The remove and reinstall with new gunk and molding solved my problem.

I used a water hose and found my leak, or one of my leaks I think. The heater blower motor on the firewall I guess the seal has deteriorated and leaking. Haven't tried to fix it yet cause my floorboards are bedlined with no carpet and if I park a crtain way it doesn't leak. Easy peasy jeepaneasy

Thought about the gutters and maybe getting some new seals. Had not considered the cowl -- thanks!

My apologies for the weak semantics. I suppose that I meant water was getting 'into' the vehicle and flowing down to the floorboards.

Thanks for the lesson on metals and liquids, my friend!
