Default Wacky Gauges

Hi guys,

After digging my 2000 Sport out from under the second Mid-Atlantic blizzard this week, I took it for a ride and found the "check gauges" light on. The battery needle dropped to nil as well. I turned it off, let it sit and came back. The light stayed off and the needle was fine. The next time I started it, the light was on and the needle dropped. Oh yeah, and periodically the speedometer needle will spaz out, crank past 100 (no engine rev) and drop back to zero. The battery's old, but I recently cleaned the terminals.

Thoughts? Thanks.
