Default vent tube

Does these Jeeps have a vent tube on the rear axle? I have a 99 and my son has a 2000 and they don't have vent tubes. The front axle does. Thanks

Yes both have vent tubes or should have unless they have been removed. I ran a new longer line on mine that goes up the gas filler neck to the top. I also extended the front to the upper part of the firewall.

But even with those done in you run in water/snow/mud a lot water will still get into the differentials past the seals some. I run in all of those quite a bit so I installed differential covers with drain plugs in them making it faster to change fluids in them more often without pulling the cover. I do pull the covers 2 times a year to check out all the gears/lockers but it takes a lot longer to do that.

The bolt that holds the brake line y block to the axle should be hollow. The vent tube attaches to that

What everybody above said. Hose runs from where shown into the uni-body. I moved mine too. Into the engine compartment next to the front diff one using the same little top hat breather. Big fan of Fluid Film. Did this so I can gunk up the inside of my uni-body better. Been staying clear of that section. Gotta figure clogging up the breather inside there is not a good thing. Now I can go to town in that section too. Always wondered what it looks like on the other side of that white nipple inside the uni-body.
