So...I'm in the process of bolting all the tins on my long block that I just had rebuilt when I notice that one of the valve cover torque limiting sleeves (AKA washer) has gone missing. I checked with the regular auto parts stores as well as the a dealer. Parts stores don't have them and dealer said that they have been discontinued from production. Both have the rubber part, neither have the metal part. WTF? I have no idea where to get one of these other than a junk yard.

My question...are there any alternatives? Is there another hardware set than I can use to replace these washers? Any ideas would be awesome!

 

I don't think I have any on my truck.
