You can use any Chevy 350. The best place to get some preliminary info is Advance Adapters or Novak enterprises. They have the adapters you will need. But you will have to ask yourself if you will be using the Chevy tranny with it. Most do. So if you do that you are going to need fabrication skills since no one makes a rear motor mount or cross member for that conversion. You are going to have air flow problems for your cooling system which will need a custom radiator, which several companies sell. So vent your hood big time, pony up the bucks for the aluminum radiator, break out the welder and good luck.
I have seen a couple and most guys have a hard time getting the exhaust to fit with off-the-shelf stuff. Most have been vortec 350's (since they are all over the place for cheap). The engine bay is plenty long, but not wide enough. Swing through your local engine shop any see if anybody has done the swap before...you might be suprised.
Also, consider the 4.6L option. If you do it right it will be less expensive, easier install (no custom stuff needed). And you wont need a new transmission/tcase/ect.

And yes, a 5.2 should fit. I happen to know where there is a 95 ZJ V8 with a dead transmission. I won't mention the price. But it would be a worthwhile project that I just might snag, IF the title issues can be cleared up. And *I* am CHEAP...
Keeping it Jeep would be preferable... And starting with a complete donor vehicle would keep fab and wire hacking to a minimum.
But as mentioned, search is a friend...
I have a 98 grand cherokee with a V8 bad motor but do have a 95 gc limited with inline 6 bad frame can I swap or is it to big a headache what all do I have to swap
awesome very informative probably had to copy n paste that . I'm new to this forum thing . Usually don't need advice I can see that caliber of intelligence here is way above me thanks I will read this this and this . This is probably the reason jeep sold out to Chrysler. Good day I'm late for a spelling contest .
